Protective vest and Class IV plates - donation

This category raises money to buy a Sioen Ballistic TG2 or equivalent Plate Carrier type vest and two Class IV protective plates. The vests will be purchased for partners involved in rescue work. In particular, rescue workers in Odessa and Kharkiv have asked for our help. They are both trained firefighters and volunteers and are responsible for the rescue of the ruins.

Rubble rescue means clearing bomb damage and rescuing victims from the rubble. The rescue personnel have requested ballistic protective equipment because Russia has introduced the so-called "double tap" tactic. The same civilian target is bombed twice. The first time is to destroy the target. After that, the first is to wait a few hours for rescue personnel to arrive on the scene. The target is then bombed again to ensure that rescue personnel are also casualties.

This is a terrorist tactic designed to increase the deterrent effect of the bombing and to disrupt rescue operations.
